Heating and air conditioning systems and refrigeration systems consist of many mechanical, electrical and electronic components, including motors, compressors, pumps, fans, ducts, pipes, thermostats and switches. Heating and air-conditioning and refrigeration technicians install, maintain and repair such systems. They must be able to maintain, diagnose and correct problems throughout the entire system. Annual salary range is from $20,000-$40,000 Job prospects are expected to be very good, particularly for those with technical school training. The better your education and skills, the greater the rewards to be realized.
